Space Description: 15 Building Campus

Job Time Frame: 1 Year

Challenge: It was essential for this base to be ahead of the game in the technology realm. The Inside Plant cable needed upgraded from CAT 5 to CAT 6 bringing it up to government standards. Military standards require both NIPR (Non-Classified Internet Protocol Network or Sensitive but Unclassified owned by the Department of Defense) and SIPR (Secret Internet Protocol Router or Secret and Classified) Solutions.

Linxus Solution: Because Linxus recruits many of its installers from the National Guard we were able to provide this base with technicians with previously established security clearances and background checks with the government. Fiber was necessary at desktops in 2 of the buildings for future growth and the build out or the Technology Rooms in each building was implemented by our installers to bring them up to government standards. All of the old CAT 5 was removed and replaced with CAT 6 in the BICSI standards. With SIPR constraints our installers had to provide service not typically found in a business setting. It was necessary to work without electronic devices, in secret areas, around sensitive material and equipment. Linxus equipped the base with explosive proof phone boxes.

Results: The transition from the approval of the job to the start of the work was seamless due to our previously established security clearances. NIPR and SIPR installations were provided and with such detail and flexibility that the base has brought us back for multiple MAC (Moves, Adds and Changes) projects on an ongoing bases.
